Can Depression and Suicide Be Seen in Your Blueprint?

Podcast 075

with Cha~zay, Ph.D., C.H. and Curtis Williams, MA, A.P.D., CRTM

It takes no genius to see that depression and suicides are on the rise at alarming rates, but what’s even more disturbing is the age of young suicide victims. Just a few days ago a 9 year old committed suicide because he was bullied at school.

I’m in my 50s today but I remember my own suicide attempt at age 15 like it was yesterday. I almost succeeded and did have a near death experience, which I talk about in other videos and podcasts and also in my book.

As a result of this event in my life, my entire life changed, for the better. Later I became a trained Grief and Suicide Hotline Counselor and Ordained Minister (non-denominational), a Holistic Life Coach, and today the work as a Metaphysician is dedicated to the evolution of the human soul. And part of that is helping people experience true freedom at their inner core.

It's not an easy road - this human journey - neither for myself nor for my students and clients. However, it can be done. It must be done. And your template can show you how to enjoy your life.

My research for answers about why some people are more depressed than others, causes that bring on episodes and triggers that make someone want to call it quits for good - I searched for explanations beyond psychological or dietary reasoning. On my search I came across a beautiful article by Curtis Williams, MA, A.P.D., CRTM. You'll find a link to the article and his contact information below, along with International numbers for Suicide Hotlines.

I invited him to do this podcast because the answer to whether or not depression and suicide can be seen in your blueprint is a big, loud, resounding YES!

What you and I need to do is familiarize ourselves with our unique template. If you are a parent make sure you familiarize yourself with your children's templates as well (and your spouse's). When we do, we not only see our predisposition for depression and potential warnings for suicidal tendencies but we can work with our template to get a heads-up of when an episode is on the horizon.

This template can give you the when, the how, and even tell you how long the episode will last. Equipped with this information we can then prepare and surround us with the people we need and adjust our life style accordingly.

There something else we'll talk about. And that's the coldness and downright cruel behavior of those that have little compassion for those who feel suicidal. We've all heard a person use words like selfish, or that those who call it quits are taking the easy way out or that they're cowards. What is this all about, a person who has neither understanding nor compassion nor empathy for people who are down and out?

Even this coldness, or lack of empathy and compassion can be seen in people's blueprint (template). We'll talk about this as well.

Watch the podcast in video here or listen to the podcast using the above link.

This insightful information can be more easily shared with friends and family in this compacted format.

From what I've learned about myself in getting a natal astrological report from Janet Hickox, it doesn't mention anything about depression. It may surface from another read through and from getting a video consultation.

This video showed how much the planets affect even the smallest things in our day to day lives... very interesting. "As above so below" is so true and literally so.

I have a question or two:
Do the planets, or any other astrological structure, affect how your parents pass on their traits? If you were born with similar traits, particularly in depression, mental illnesses, physical illness, as your parents, how does astrology connect the dots? I'm seeing and remembering Houses about family, the moon being the mother and the sun being the father. Maybe more explanation in this area would be helpful.

My mom's mom had Alzheimer's. My mom has been exhibiting the early stages of it, or has bad memory, and some short-term memory loss. My dad's parents both had cancer, but I think it was mostly related to their lifestyle choices and characters. There's depression in my grandparents and parents. Which parts of astrology explain how these things are genetically passed on? Or what else is there to learn about us being born with similar traits of our ancestors, as if we were inheriting them.

Can you go into the elements in depth more? It's something I'm quite interested in understanding in regards to their causes and effects, which planets and houses are related to each, and how each element can be used. Water is related to empathy and compassion. Fire to action. Would that mean passion is Fire? I've always thought, felt, seen that. Fire people are so creative and active, sometimes burning up my energy or aura, like they're on fire right next to me... as it feels, maybe not literally, but I feel they suck the air out of me sometimes. My natal report said I "Have Water" and "Want Air". Hah. Always want air and space -- FREEDOM. :)

How are water and air the same? Or was it said they were very close....? Is it because of their chemical components that have been united to create a new element?

That's all for now. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and possibly answer.

Indeed, Lina. I will pass your words on to Curtis.

Allyria, great, great questions!

I can't answer from an astrological perspective since I'm not an astrologer, but I'll pass your questions on to Curtis.

What I can pass on is the Suicide Hotline perspective. When we have a caller on the line and the person mentions (and we ask for this information) that anyone else in their family had suicidal tendencies or actually committed suicide, our alerts go up immediately because the person on the line has a 50% higher chance of becoming an actual suicide victim.

From our perspective (suicide hotline) yes, suicidal tendencies are linked across the span of the ancestry line.

I'm just now learning to look at my parents' astrology chart and also my daughter's astrology chart, and it's indeed mind boggling how many similarities there are. I've also noticed that certain traits my mother has I seem to skip but are showing up in my daughter's chart. Perhaps things that skip a generation?

A good astrologer, especially one trained in medical astrology like Curtis, could certainly see patterns unfold across the family line.

Any ways to recommend the depressed person other than the suicide hotline or clinics? Months ago one of my colleague committed suicide after her appointment with her therapyist. Although I don't know her thought but I wonder she might have felt despair that even the professionals could not help much. (And
antidepressants increase the risk of suicide and violence, )

Jeannie, I'm so sorry for the loss of your colleague. Suicide always leaves so many unanswered questions to those who are left behind. Very few write a letter to release anyone left behind from feeling any guilt. And so this guilt and "what if" questions remain for the rest of our lives.

I'm not a psychiatrist or psychologist and so can't give any recommendations in regards to medication. I do know, however, that one of the more common side effects of anti-depressants (seizure meds too, etc.) is suicidal tendencies.

Personally I would never under any circumstances be put on anti-depressants, for the simple fact that one effect cannot be changed with another effect. Secondly, in order to take a psychiatrist/psychologist's word s/he would have to show me brain scans and know a heck of a lot about astrology (as it relates to mental stability), before s/he would even have my attention. Sadly, I have yet to meet such a specialist who is open enough to go to the source of what creates sound waves in the first place...

It seems to me that medication is just a dangerous band-aid with lots of side effects, which can make things worse; and personally that is not a chance I would be willing to take. There is a time and place for medication, but we're talking about ongoing help to support the mind - for which the answer cannot realistically be found in pharmaceuticals. To make it worse, meds alter the body's and mental chemistry, making it all the harder for the body to re-calibrate itself.

Again, people need to take responsibility for their own body and mind and if medical help needs to be sought in order to keep self and others safe, then that is obviously the right choice.

Hello Allyria,

The Elements are very important regarding one's Natal chart. An imbalance where Fire is lacking can be zero to two planets in Fire, depending of course on the ratio of the other Elements. An over emphasis could be more than four planets or more, and again one must consider the ratio in the remaining Elements. An under or over emphasis suggests many things. For instance a lack of Fire in one's chart can suggest difficulty with the digestive track, difficulty in processing foods, and a slow down in the digestive track which could then cause constipation, upset stomach, or not receiving the proper nutrients that one should receive from proper digestion. A lack of Fire could also suggest a lack of energy, motivation, faith or optimism in their lives. A lack of Fire in the chart strongly suggests that this individual has difficulties in the way one approaches his or her life. There are certainly remedies or strategies to off set these concerns, however, something most certainly needs to be done in order to change the rhythm of this potential.

Too much Fire is rarely seen as a problem by the individual who has this over emphasis until it is too late to do anything about it, such as "burning yourself out" (adrenal burn out) leaving a shell of the former self. There can be a strong urge for the abuse of drugs and alcohol with "self medicating" behaviors. They tend to be overly active, and concerned about making things happen in their social and work environments. Impulsivity is also a warning sign for an over emphasis of Fire. Often, these individuals are ego centric, or self centered, and often find it difficult to be sensitive to others' needs, and they can be argumentative and selfish in their dealings with others.

Of course there are three other Elements I haven't mentioned, and for good reason, as there are many variabilities with the over and under emphasis of Element distribution. Having an equal amount of Air to Fire is extremely helpful in off setting one or the other. The entirety of the chart must be considered before delineating a prognosis, however, there is a strong impression given by those who have too little or too much of one or another Element in their Natal charts.

That was a great question Allyria. I hope I answered it to your satisfaction!

Aho

Thank you for sharing this exceptional information. I wish to learn more. Will you set up a mentoring or instructional program one day (soon)? :)

Yes, I may have a need for more Fire. Digestive issues and other things you mentioned ring true. I follow what leads do hold strong energy for me. At this moment, it feels like a few, but viable. Yesterday, I let go of plans and mental activity and drove for hours in the mountains and hills surrounding the beaches. In searching for what I have a passion for, it seems like Air-type activities are the ones. So combine those two elements?

It's so interesting about Fire people's tendencies -- I see those things a lot in them. You hit the mark.

Will be very interested in further explanations on the other elements, as well as any podcasts. Could you do podcasts?

Sorry if I'm asking too much. I respond well to your teaching.

Cha~zay, a friend has told me she fully plans on checking out or cashing in her chips. She hasn't told me when. I alerted the police in her country & they sent some deputies to her house. They told me she was okay. I have told her I care very much about her & love her. I shared that Rumi quote about each person coming to earth with a light & I would miss that light. However, her request for me not to call for help was over-ruled. Her life is more important than our friendship. She has stopped responding to me online.

Before I called the authorities, she explained her despair about the world & about her life. I think she has been struggling deeply for a long time.

I wish there was more I could do to prevent her from making this choice. I have had to pull back from feeling responsible, remembering that I have done as much as I can to my knowledge. I just wonder if there was more I could do right now. I've contacted a couple of friends to reach out to her. I hope her parents know by now through the cops arriving, that her situation is in need of care.

In her mind, there is no afterlife. I sent her the podcast #005 about suicide. The message is unread as of now.

I truly believe she is desperate for something else in her life as she's traveled a lot & has tried many things. In her mind, this is the way out. I think she believes there is no consequence, which may be the issue with choosing/wanting suicide in many situations. I understand it is a part of the way you were born. There is very little to no way to explain this to someone over the phone while they're very upset & likely under the influence of drugs.

Cha~zay & Curtis, any insight or advice on this situation would be appreciated.
